This is the time when the 487th BG first came to Lavenham flying B-24s. Tickets £8 in advance, £10 on the door - subject to availability. Doors open (along with the bar): 7.00. The meadow will be open at 0900 and close 1600 ‘Wartime Lavenham’ guided walk Guided walk of ‘Wartime Lavenham’ £5 per person. Walk starts from The Swan at 1030hrs (please meet there by 1015hrs). It will last for approxiamately 60 mins and endapprox 1130hrs in the Airmen’s Bar. Numbers are limited, so please call 01787 247477 quoting “Wartime Walk” to book in advance. A special joint performance from Wattisham Military Wives’ Choir with Bella Donna, a trio of female professional singers who met while singing with English National Opera. They perform a variety of music from the post war period in the style of The Andrews Sisters. This evening they will also sing operatic extracts and numbers from the American Songbook. BellaDonna are Lyn Davis, Judith Douglas and Rebecca Stockland. Tonight they are delighted to be accompanied by D.B. di Blasio on piano. There will be an interval and light refreshments. Sunday 19th May Parade - Service - Bus - Airfield Events Guard of Honour Parade - The Swan Hotel US Military will assembly outside the Swan Hotel in the High Street, together with some members of visiting veteran family’s. The Parade will proceed up the High Street and arrive on the Market Square by 11.00hrs In gratitude Service - Market Square The Service will be taken by Lt.Col. Ronlad R. Ragon, Ch, USAF Wing Chaplin, from RAF Mildenhall, proceeded by a short statement by FOLA Chairmen John Pawsey. During the service, the Honour Guard from RAF Lakenheath, will lower and raise the standard. A short address will be given, followed by the laying of a wreath by Mike Warner. Vintage Vehicle Convoyto LV Lavenham Airfield Watch the Vintage Vehicles leave Market Square and make their way out of the village to Lavenham Airfield. Marshals will stop traffic in the High Street to enable the vehicles to travel in trueconvoy. You will be able to view the convoy from Market Lane junction of the High Street and going north towards the Airfield. Vintage Bus Trips with Felix Coaches of Long Melford. Travel to and from Lavenham Airfield on a vintage bus (places limited but there are two trips in each direction). VINTAGE BUS TIMETABLE - TO AIRFIELD Tickets cost £5 return and will go on sale on 17th May

If you wish to visit the airfield please obtain a FOLA directions map as there is only one entrance to the site. Everyone to meet up at the Control Tower. DOGS ARE NOT PERMITTED - THANK YOU Paths and roads at Lavenham airfield are unmade or date back to World War II, so visits to the airfield are conducted at your own risk. No charge for coming to the airfield today, but donations to the "Friends of Lavenham Airfield (FOLA)" Memorial Project will be much appreciated.
